Every journey begins with a memory.

For Shealife, that memory starts in Calaba Town, a coastal community near Freetown, Sierra Leone, where my grandmother, Elizabeth Majoe Squire, introduced me to the remarkable versatility of raw shea butter.

In our home, shea butter was never simply a skincare ingredient. It was part of everyday life. It soothed dry lips, comforted tired muscles, nourished skin, protected against the elements, and even served as a cooking ingredient. It represented care, generosity, and tradition—passed from one generation to the next through simple daily rituals.

Long before I understood the science behind skincare, I understood how it felt. The rich scent of raw shea butter became the scent of home, love, and family.

Years later, after moving to Sweden, those childhood memories inspired something greater.

In 2020, I founded Shealife with a vision to honour my grandmother’s legacy by bringing together African Roots × Nordic Nature. Combining generations of West African skincare traditions with Swedish craftsmanship, transparency, and quality standards. Every product is handcrafted in small batches using carefully selected botanical ingredients and raw shea butter.

We believe skincare should be more than a routine—it should be a moment of wellbeing. Every soap, body butter, facial treatment, and lip care product is thoughtfully created to transform everyday self-care into a meaningful ritual that nurtures both skin and soul.

Every Shealife product is handcrafted in small batches in Sweden, allowing us to prioritise quality, freshness and attention to detail over mass production. This thoughtful approach gives us the flexibility to carefully refine our formulations while ensuring every product meets the standards our customers deserve.

We combine generations of traditional knowledge with modern cosmetic science, using consciously selected botanical ingredients and raw shea butter to create skincare that is both luxurious and effective. Each formulation is developed with care and manufactured in accordance with the EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC No. 1223/2009).

Before reaching your hands, every product undergoes a Cosmetic Product Safety Assessment to verify that it is safe for its intended use. We produce our formulations to Swedish quality standards, so you can trust that every soap, body butter, and skincare product reflects our commitment to safety, transparency, and craftsmanship.
